Rugby School Hanoi to open in september 2026
Rugby School Group has announced its intention to open Rugby School Hanoi in September 2026, marking the first Rugby School campus in Vietnam and the ninth school within the wider Rugby School Group.
The school will begin with a Pre-Prep provision for children from Early Years through to Year 2, before expanding into Prep and Senior School from 2027. Located within the Ciputra area near West Lake, Rugby School Hanoi will bring Rugby’s longstanding educational philosophy — The Whole Person is the Whole Point — to a new international setting.
Founded in 1567, Rugby School is one of the United Kingdom’s most established schools, recognised for its academic tradition, pastoral care, and broad educational approach. Over generations, Rugby has developed an educational model that values not only intellectual achievement, but also character, leadership, creativity, and personal responsibility.
The Hanoi campus is being developed in partnership with Khai Sang Corporation, a respected education investor in Vietnam led by Chairman and Founder Mr Tuyen Nguyen. Khai Sang currently operates five schools and will establish its first school in Hanoi through this partnership.
Rugby School Hanoi joins a growing international network that includes Rugby School Thailand, Rugby School Japan, Rugby School Nigeria, Rugby School Dubai, and Rugby’s three preparatory schools in the United Kingdom.
Dr Neil Hampton, CEO of Rugby School Global, said Hanoi was a natural choice for the next stage of the Group’s international development.
“We are delighted to be opening a school in Hanoi, a city of impressive energy and cultural depth, and to be partnering with Khai Sang Corporation. Our shared ambition is to cultivate young people of character, integrity and compassion, preparing them not only for academic distinction but for lives of meaning, responsibility and service.”
Mr Tuyen Nguyen, Chairman of Khai Sang Corporation, described the arrival of Rugby School in Vietnam as an important milestone for education in Hanoi.
“Having Rugby School in Vietnam is a privilege. Rugby’s heritage, educational tradition and proven excellence offer families in Hanoi access to a super-premium educational model with a strong international foundation.”
Rugby School Hanoi will offer a British curriculum pathway alongside a broad co-curricular experience, including sport, music, performance, and wider enrichment opportunities. The school’s educational model aims to support both academic development and the wider growth of each child.
Applications are now open for September 2026 entry for children from Early Years to Year 2.
