On 19 March, Rugby School Hanoi welcomed invited guests to an Introduction Reception in Hanoi, marking an important early milestone in the School’s journey towards opening in September 2026.

Held in an intimate and carefully arranged setting, the reception brought together families, partners, and members of the wider community to learn more about Rugby School Hanoi and the educational philosophy that will guide the School from its earliest years.

The evening was attended by senior representatives from Rugby School Group, including Dr Neil Hampton and Mr Nick Bacon, whose presence reflected the significance of the Hanoi campus within Rugby’s growing international network. Dr Hampton serves as CEO of Rugby School Global, overseeing the international development of Rugby School Group, while Mr Bacon leads the Governing Body of Rugby School Group and has played a central role in its global expansion. Guests were introduced to the heritage of Rugby School, founded in 1567, and to the philosophy that continues to shape its approach to education: The Whole Person is the Whole Point.

Throughout the evening, discussions focused on the wider purpose of education — one that values character, curiosity, relationships, and intellectual development alongside academic achievement. The reception also provided an overview of Rugby School Hanoi’s plans to open initially with Pre-Prep for children aged 2 to 6, before expanding into Prep and Senior School in later years.

Rather than a formal launch, the event was conceived as an opportunity for conversation and connection. Families were able to engage directly with representatives from Rugby School Group and gain a clearer understanding of the values and aspirations that will shape the future school community.

The atmosphere of the evening reflected the approach Rugby School Hanoi hopes to establish: thoughtful, personal, and grounded in long-term relationships.
