Rugby School Hanoi is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Symmonds as Head of Pre-Prep, ahead of the School’s opening in September 2026.

Mr Symmonds brings more than 20 years of international experience in education, having held leadership roles across British and international schools in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His work has focused on strengthening teaching and learning, developing school culture, and creating environments where children are supported both academically and pastorally.

He joins Rugby School Hanoi with an existing connection to Rugby School Group, having previously served as Deputy Headmaster at Rugby School Thailand. His appointment reflects a strong understanding of Rugby’s educational philosophy and a continued commitment to its development within an international context.

Most recently, Mr Symmonds served as Head of Prep at St George’s College in Argentina, where he led initiatives centred on curriculum, student wellbeing, and the wider school experience.

As Head of Pre-Prep, Mr Symmonds will guide the development of the School’s earliest years, helping shape both the educational experience and the wider culture of the community.

Rugby School Hanoi will open initially with Pre-Prep for children aged 2 to 6, from Early Years through to Year 2, before expanding into Prep and Senior School in the years ahead.
